The Little Way of Trust: Letting Go of Past and Future

☕ Casa Coffee Klatch Offering

The Little Way of Trust

Every morning in the Casa begins with coffee, cats, and conversation. Today’s reflection comes from Day by Day in the Little Way by Susan Brinkmann, OCDS. It reminds us that the heart of Thérèse’s path is not in grand gestures, but in the quiet surrender of our anxieties to God’s providence.

📖 Excerpt: “It’s because we think of the past and future that we become discouraged and fall into despair.”

We should only look backward to learn and forward to plan, but never dwell so much on past or future that it robs us of peace. Thérèse’s Little Way calls us to trust God with what has been and what will be, and to remain in His presence today.

🌿 Casa Reflection: How often do I let yesterday’s regrets or tomorrow’s worries steal today’s joy? This meditation invites me to pause, breathe, and remember: God’s providence is not a vague promise—it is a present reality. The Little Way is not about ignoring the past or future, but about refusing to let them overshadow the grace of this moment.

Prayer: Dear Thérèse, help me to let go of what I cannot change and what I cannot yet see. Intercede for me, that I may rest in God’s presence today, confident in His loving providence.

🌸 Closing Benediction: May today’s anxieties dissolve into trust, and may each small act of surrender become a seed of peace in the Casa and beyond.

Me, sharing in my own little way 🌿
