Phoebe & Sammy vs. the Wall‑Creeper
🐾 Chronicle of the Wall‑Creeper 🐾
🕷️ Cats Declare War on a Spider 🕷️
Last night’s prayers turned into a bug‑hunting spectacle. Phoebe climbed the humidifier for a better view, while Sammy—desperate for higher ground—charged into the office and leapt onto the desk on the other side of the wall. Convinced it would help him reach the intruder, he quickly realized the bug was out of sight and retreated back to the bed. As crazy as the plan was, Sammy tried it more than once, running his desk‑to‑bed circuit like a knight in training.
It began, as many Casa tales do, in the quiet of evening prayers. The rosary beads slipped through my fingers, the kitties lounged in their usual half‑doze, and all was still. Until Phoebe’s eyes sharpened into laser focus.
There, upon the northern wall, a Bug of Unusual Size made its ascent.
The Strategist
Phoebe, ever the tactician, immediately sought elevation. She scaled the Humidifier Battlements, hind paws braced, forepaws stretched toward the ceiling seam. Though the intruder remained out of reach, she held her ground—ready, should gravity betray the bug.
The Knight
Sammy, meanwhile, chose the path of chaos. He charged into the office, mounted the Desk Tower, then leapt back to the Bed Ramparts. Again and again, he ran his circuit, convinced that momentum alone might bend the laws of physics. His eyes never left the creeping foe. Occasionally, he swiped at the air itself—a formal warning to the intruder of what awaited should it dare descend.
The Bug
The Wall‑Creeper, oblivious to the Council’s frenzy, marched steadily along the ceiling seam. Neither Phoebe’s vigilance nor Sammy’s acrobatics altered its course.
The Benediction
Thus ended the night’s session of the Bug Council. The Strategist and the Knight retired, their quarry undefeated but their honor intact. And the Casa learned once more that not every battle is won, but every chase is worth the telling.
May the Council’s watchfulness never falter, even when the ceiling remains unconquered.
